People-to-People Relationship Virtual Public Lectures: Team Teaching Medicinal Chemistry with Prof. Taifo Mahmud, PhD (College of Pharmacy, Oregon State University – USA)

Independent Campus is part of the Independent Learning policy by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia which provides opportunities for students to hone their skills according to their talents and interests by going directly into the world of work in preparation for their future careers. In general, apart from the main activities of the Independent Campus Program, namely internships, independent studies, Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards, teaching campuses, village development (Thematic KKN), independent student exchanges, humanitarian projects, research or studies, and entrepreneurship, improving the quality of independent learning in the classroom is also carried out.
For this reason, the Chemistry Department, FMIPA, University of Riau (UNRI) used this opportunity to present courses (MK) with professors from world-renowned universities. One of them, the UNRI FMIPA Chemistry Department Lecturer Team is collaborating with the Academic Diaspora from the USA - Canada through the People-to-People Relationship Virtual Public Lectures activity where the USA - Canada academic diaspora will teach at the Indonesian Campus. For this reason, the UNRI FMIPA Chemistry Department Lecturer Team collaborated with Prof. Taifo Mahmud, PhD from the College of Pharmacy, Oregon State University – USA in Team Teaching MK Medicinal Chemistry (2 credits). Prof. Taifo together with a TEAM of MK Medicinal Chemistry lecturers, Department of Chemistry, FMIPA UNRI, namely apt. Dr. Hilwan Yuda Teruna, M.Si., apt. Dr. Rudi Hendra, M.Sc., and Yuana Nurulita, PhD will manage the MK in 16 meetings (including Quiz, UTS and UAS) in the Odd Semester 2021 – 2022. Medicinal Chemistry is the MK of choice for students of the Chemistry Department, FMIPA UNRI who have met the prerequisite MK to take this MK in Medicinal Chemistry.
